Alfred Awuah (@alfredawuah)
How many Midyears have you attended?
Alfred: I've attended every Midyear since 2019 — four in person, two virtual. Looking forward to #7 this year!
Do you have a favorite Midyear memory so far?
Alfred: My favorite Midyear memory was Anaheim in 2023. It was my first Midyear out of residency and the first opportunity I had to reconnect with my program since finishing, along with seeing old friends and colleagues. Additionally, the Anaheim Convention Center is beautiful and Viola Davis was an amazing keynote speaker. I also loved having 80-degree weather in December!
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?
Alfred: This year, I'm looking forward most to delivering a CE presentation with my former New Practitioners Forum Executive Committeee, along with recruiting for my residency program as residency program coordinator at the Residency Showcase!
Christina Madison (@thepublichealthpharmacist)
How many Midyears have you attended?
Christina: 15+ Midyears! I've missed a handful during my career but have been attending since I was a student. I started my college of pharmacy student chapter of ASHP and was also part of the new practitioner committee and task force for many years.
Do you have a favorite Midyear memory so far?
Christina: Any time the conference is in New Orleans — eating oysters and catching up with colleagues.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?
Christina: Reconnecting with colleagues who I haven't seen due to job changes and professional advancement.
Natalie Hajian (@pillsandpurses)
How many Midyears have you attended?
Natalie: This year will be my 5th Midyear :)
Do you have a favorite Midyear memory so far?
Natalie: Lots of good memories, but one of my favorites is from a few years ago in Anaheim. I was waiting in line to get headshot photos taken at the exhibit hall, and a student approached me to say she was inspired to pursue residency after following my Instagram page and appreciated all the advice. It was very heartwarming.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?
Natalie: I always look forward to participating in Residency Showcase and reconnecting with colleagues.
Teresa Cintia Oyono Nsuga (@cynthia.colucci)
How many Midyears have you attended?
Teresa: I’ve attended one Midyear so far.
Do you have a favorite Midyear memory so far?
Teresa: One of my favorite memories was the energy and excitement in the Exhibit Hall. Connecting with many students and pharmacists all in one space reminded me of how supportive and inspiring our profession truly is.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?
Teresa: I’m excited to raise awareness as an ASHP Brand Ambassador, especially because, as a student, I gained so much valuable information from past ambassadors who made the experience fun and approachable. I hope to pay that forward and show others that Midyear doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, it can actually be one of the most exciting parts of your pharmacy journey.
Zach Krauss (@krausszachary)

How many Midyears have you attended?
Zach: Five so far, including the one that happened virtually in 2020!
Do you have a favorite Midyear memory so far?
Zach: At Midyear 2024 in NOLA, I got to spend a lot of quality time with my pharmacy resident peers and we really enjoyed just getting to experience the conference together and grow as professionals. We were all really nervous about some of the activities — like PPS — which could be stressful for us, but the process at ASHP made it simple enough that we just had to focus on our interviews, which was really helpful.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s conference?
Zach: I'm excited to get to attend a bit more of the actual programming at Midyear! As a resident and as a student, a lot of my attention was focused on recruitment and applying for jobs or interviewing, so I'm excited to spend time as a practitioner sharpening my clinical tools and learning more from the various sessions and tracks offered.
