Gersema Elected Treasurer, Norman, Scott Elected to Board of Directors
Kim W. Benner, PharmD, BCPS, FALSHP, FASHP, FPPA, was elected as ASHP's new President-elect. Lisa M. Gersema, BSPharm, PharmD, MHA, BCPS, CPEL, FASHP, FMSHP was elected as ASHP Treasurer and Christy M. Norman, PharmD, MS, BCPS, CPEL, FASHP and Christopher M. Scott, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FCCM, were elected to serve on the ASHP Board of Directors.
Benner is a professor of pharmacy practice at the Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy and a pediatric clinical specialist at Children's of Alabama in Birmingham. Her ASHP service includes terms on the ASHP Board of Directors, section advisory groups, and ASHP Foundation committees. She is a past chair of the Committee on Nominations, Council of Therapeutics, and the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists. She also served as a Clinical Skills Competition coordinator and judge, a CV reviewer, and a mentor in the ASHP Guided Mentorship Program. She also served as an Alabama delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates and as president and council director of the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Gersema is the system director of clinical pharmacy services for Allina Health, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a past president of ASHP and served on the board of directors. She also served as chair of the International Accreditation Commission, Council on Pharmacy Practice, and ASHP Task Force on Opioids, as a member of the Commission on Therapeutics, and as a Minnesota delegate to the House of Delegates. She also served as president and treasurer of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Norman serves as senior vice president of pharmacy services at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia. Her ASHP service includes various leadership roles, including chair of the Pharmacy Executive Leadership Alliance advisory committee, member of the Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission, past chair of the Council on Pharmacy Practice Management, past chair of the Multi-Hospital Pharmacy Executives Committee, and Georgia representative to the House of Delegates. She is a past president of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists and co-chairs the legislative committee.
Scott is the chief clinical operating officer at Eskenazi Health, Indianapolis, Indiana. His ASHP service includes participation on the Council on Pharmacy Management, ASHP Forecast Advisory Committee member and chapter author, Commission on Credentialing, House of Delegates, the International Accreditation Commission, and the Pharmacists in the C-Suite Advisory Panel. He has also been a practitioner surveyor for over 50 residency programs nationwide.
Benner and Gersema will begin their terms immediately. Norman and Scott will start their three-year terms in June 2026.
