ASHP Pharmacy Practice Section Election Results

ASHP members have elected the following individuals to serve on the Executive Committees of ASHP’s Pharmacy Practice Sections.

The terms for the Section Chairs-elect will begin immediately; the two-year terms for Directors-at-Large-elect  will start in June 2021.

The new Executive Committee Members are as follows:

Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners
Chair-elect: Daniel B. Truelove, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCPS, AAHIVP
Director-at-Large-elect: Christina E. Deremer, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCPS, TTS, FASHP

Daniel B. Truelove, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCPS, AAHIVP, is Assistant Director of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Dr. Truelove’s ASHP service includes terms as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Section Advisory Group (SAG) on Clinical Practice Advancement and as a member of the SAGs on Business Development and Compensation and Practice Sustainability.

Christina E. Deremer, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCPS, TTS, FASHP, is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Her ASHP service includes terms as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committee, a member of the SAG on Compensation & Practice Sustainability, and contributor to the third and fourth edition of the ASHP publication, The Preceptor’s Handbook for Pharmacists.

Director-at-Large-elect: Stephanie Weightman, Pharm.D., BCPPS, BCPS

Douglas Slain, Pharm.D., BCPS, FASHP, FCCP, is a Professor and Infectious Diseases Clinical Specialist at West Virginia University and the WVU Medicine Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Slain is a past Director-at-Large of the Section.

Megan Musselman, Pharm.D., M.S., BCCCP, BCPS, is an Emergency Medicine/Neurotrauma Critical Care Pharmacist at North Kansas City Hospital. Dr. Musselman’s ASHP service includes terms on the Section’s Educational Steering Committee – Meeting Planning, SAG on Emergency Medicine, and as the Emergency Care Network Facilitator.

Stephanie Weightman, Pharm.D., BCPPS, BCPS, is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. The Immediate Past Chair of the SAG on Pediatrics, Dr. Weightman’s ASHP service also includes serving as a member Educational Steering Committee and as Vice-Chair of the Year-Round and Meeting Planning Educational
Steering Committees.

Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners
Chair-elect: Delia C. Carias, Pharm.D., BCPS, DPLA
Director-at-Large-elect: Lucas T Schulz, Pharm.D., BCIDP

Delia C. Carias, Pharm.D., BCPS, DPLA, is the Medication Use Policy Coordinator for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Carias’s service to ASHP includes a term on the Council on Pharmacy Practice, numerous advisory groups within the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners and New Practitioners Forum, and Chair of the Educational Steering Committee.

Lucas T Schulz, Pharm.D., BCIDP, is Clinical Coordinator of Infectious Diseases and PGY2 ID Residency Program Director at University of Wisconsin Health. Dr. Schulz’s ASHP service includes the House of Delegates and the New Practitioners Forum.

Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology
Chair-elect: Barry McClain, Pharm.D., M.S.
Director-at-Large-elect: Jeffrey R. Chalmers, Pharm.D.

Barry McClain, Pharm.D., M.S., is Director of Pharmacy Information Systems at Advocate Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. McClain’s ASHP service includes a term as Director-at-Large of the Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology. He is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences and is involved with state and national informatics groups.

Jeffrey R. Chalmers, Pharm.D., is the System Director of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology for the Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland. Dr. Chalmers served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the SAG on Clinical Information Systems.

Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders
Chair-elect: Jeffrey D. Little, Pharm.D., M.P.H., BCPS, FACHE, FASHP
Director-at-Large-elect: Mark Sullivan, Pharm.D., M.B.A., BCPS, FASHP

Jeffrey D. Little, Pharm.D., M.P.H., BCPS, FACHE, FASHP, is Director of Pharmacy at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Little recently completed a term as Chair of the ASHP Council on Public Policy. He is also a faculty member for the ASHP Managers’ Boot Camp and Chair of the ASHP PAC and Advocacy Advisory Committee.

Mark Sullivan, Pharm.D., M.B.A., BCPS, FASHP, is Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a member of the SAGs on Communications and Leadership Development and was faculty for the ASHP Conference for Pharmacy Leaders and the Manager’s Boot Camp.

Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners
Chair-elect: Tara N. Kelley, Pharm.D., M.M.H.C., CSP
Director-at-Large-elect: Erica Diamantides, Pharm.D., M.H.A., BCPS

Tara N. Kelley, Pharm.D., M.M.H.C., CSP, is Executive Director of Specialty Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Kelley served as a Director-at-Large on the Section’s inaugural Executive Committee.

Erica Diamantides, Pharm.D., M.H.A., BCPS, is the Specialty Pharmacy Manager for the University of Washington (UW) Medicine in Seattle, Washington. Diamantides’s ASHP involvement includes serving as a member of the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders SAG on Leadership Development and Chair of the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners SAG on Outcomes and Values.
