Member-Driven Plan Focuses on the Evolving Healthcare Landscape
ASHP today announced the launch of its new strategic plan, a forward-looking road map designed to elevate pharmacy practice and improve health outcomes nationwide. Rooted in ASHP's mission and vision, the plan reflects the dynamic needs of the healthcare environment and the collective expertise of ASHP's members.
“Our strategic plan remains firmly anchored in ASHP’s commitment to helping people achieve optimal health outcomes,” said ASHP CEO Paul W. Abramowitz, PharmD, ScD (Hon), FASHP. “This latest iteration sharpens our focus on the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape and embodies the priorities and insights of our members.”
Developed through a comprehensive and inclusive process, the plan is built around five strategic pillars:
- Patient Care
- Pharmacy Workforce
- Technology and Innovation
- Public and Global Health
- Financial Performance
Guided by the ASHP Board of Directors, the planning process included an extensive environmental scan and input from ASHP’s volunteer leaders. A two-day strategic retreat brought together board members, section and forum leaders, and staff to refine the plan’s pillars and goals.
“Our members played a vital role in shaping this plan,” Abramowitz added. “More than 1,400 comments from pharmacy professionals across the country helped us identify key opportunities, address pressing challenges, and define bold, forward-thinking priorities.”
