ASHP (American Society of Health-System Pharmacists) today announced it has been selected as one of The Washington Post’s 2025 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. This marks the fourth time that ASHP has received this prestigious regional honor.
The award is based solely on employee feedback collected through an independent survey conducted by Energage. Nearly 90% of ASHP’s employees participated in the confidential survey, which measures organizational health through employee experiences, including feeling respected and supported, opportunities for growth, and empowerment to achieve.
“We are honored to be recognized once again as a Top Workplace,” said ASHP CEO Paul W. Abramowitz, PharmD, ScD (Hon), FASHP. “This award is a testament to the exceptional staff and the vibrant, purpose-driven culture that we’ve cultivated throughout our over 80-year history. I’m deeply grateful to our employees and members for making ASHP such a special place that fosters innovation, collaboration, and service to the pharmacy profession and the patients they serve.”
In addition to The Washington Post Top Workplace award, ASHP received four Culture Excellence Awards from Energage this spring for compensation and benefits, innovation, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility.
This year, ASHP also earned national recognition as a 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplace and was previously honored with the 2022 Top Workplaces USA award. The organization has also received The Washington Post Top Workplace award in 2022, 2017, and 2016, two Culture Excellence Awards in 2022, and was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare in 2017.
