Ahead of a Senate committee hearing this week on the 340B Drug Pricing Program, ASHP told senators that with the rising costs of care and Medicaid funding cuts, 340B is more critical than ever to ensure patient access to care.
But ASHP is asking for members to help, too. Drug manufacturers and pharmacy benefit managers continue their attempts to chip away at the program, which helps health systems and hospitals offer services to patients who live in underserved areas.
Members are encouraged to contact their senators and urge support for the 340B program by sharing how it has allowed their hospitals and health systems to expand services and access to patient care.
Together with its partners at the American Hospital Association and 340B Health, ASHP has also filed briefs defending 340B in more than 30 court cases across 17 states.
