Today, a federal district court temporarily halted revised vaccine recommendations issued by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) over the past year.
The court ruled that ACIP and the CDC bypassed traditional, evidence-based processes for vaccine recommendations.
The decision, which prevents ACIP from holding its scheduled meetings later this week. restores the pre-January 2026 guidance and blocks changes made to the following vaccine schedules: hepatitis B (including removal of the universal birth dose), measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella, influenza, hepatitis A, meningococcal, and COVID-19.
